Well over the weekend Northern Ireland saw some pretty major winds and our power went out around 3pm. Didn’t return until 11pm and when it did it appears my Mac Book Pro power adaptor has become a power surge victim. Despite the fact it was plugged into my surge protection thing at the time!!
So that will be approx £70 handed over to the Apple or PC World minions for a new one. Having said that I think the laptop is still within warranty so I may be able to ask Apple nicely 
Luckily I have a spare WinXP box here so I can continue functioning!
